Hi, I’m Rochelle — founder of The Calm Creatives Club, home educating mum, ex-educator, and passionate advocate for children’s emotional wellbeing.
Having had a very turbulent childhood, I've seen first hand how our early experiences shape who we are, how we handle adversity and what we think of ourselves. I always knew I wanted to have a family, and I for sure knew I didn't want to repeat the same generational cycles. So at 23 I decided to deep dive into mindfulness and self development to better myself for when that time came. I've since learnt now in my mid 30's that self development is a life-long journey!
Before having my own, I worked with children and their families across many roles spanning over 14 years. And always, their emotional wellbeing lead my practice. I really wanted to be the voice for others that I didn't have growing up.
But it wasn’t until I became a parent myself, especially a parent to an autistic child, that everything I knew about children’s needs deepened in a huge way.
When I started home educating, I realised how much freedom there was to nurture the whole child. Not just academically, but emotionally too. I went searching for an inclusive class where my children (both beautifully spirited, deep feeling kinda kids) could express themselves and build confidence in their own time and way, without pressure to perform. I couldn't find it.... so I decided to create it.
And that's how The Calm Creatives Club was born!
This space encompasses everything I was looking for, and know many others are too: emotional literacy, creativity, kindness, inclusion, and connection. It’s not about fixing or forcing — it’s about giving children tools to understand and express themselves, navigate big feelings, and know that they’re enough just as they are.
Coffees in hand, we're in this together. A warm welcome to you!
